Full Transcript:
Sherri: I am Sherri Doss, and I am the patient.
Harold: I'm Harold Doss. I'm the spouse and caregiver.
Sherri: I was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei, which we call PMP, when I was diagnosed on March 24th 2021. Well, we initially saw an oncologist here in San Antonio, and his prognosis was that I need to have a HIPEC surgery within three months.

Otherwise, there wouldn't be anything that they can really do for me. Meeting Doctor Sardi and having that HIPEC surgery and just being around him and his positive attitude and the staff gave me a new look -- a new way to look at life. I was finally looking forward to the rest of my life, whatever that might be, and to the quality of life that I have.
Harold: So it went from my perspective, hopeless hopelessness to hopeful.

Sherri: I volunteered to play the piano. And so I'm planning to play Stand by Me by Ben E. King at the talent show. And I chose Stand by Me because of the words. When, I think about that song, I think about my husband who stood right there by me through all of this. So I'm anxious to play that song and dedicate it to him.
